Leadership: Community and Conservation

The Conservation Leadership curriculum will provide an immersive, field-based, and deeply engaging educational experience grounded in work, community, and personal and career development. It integrates practical skill development, academics, community-based service, and leadership training into a unified model. 

This represents an intentional evolution of the values Sterling has long upheld, adapted to the realities of a rapidly changing world. The model offers something both grounded and coherent: a place-based community built on responsibility, work, and shared purpose. In other words, it builds on Sterling’s programmatic roots and essential DNA while introducing structural clarity, financial discipline, and alignment with its historic identity and mission.
